So I bought these tickets way back when they were first announced, during pre-sale actually. I love the Kills and It made me listen to the Black Keys and they are badass as well. So They were supposed to play Headliners in Toledo, which was now my concert spot. It wasn't as cool as The Black Cat in DC but it was the best for this area. Well a couple weeks ago I saw it was moved to a new venue, the Toledo Civic Theater. SO I kept my hopes up, this was to be the first concert at this place. Well come to find out the fuckin local government had spent a shitload of money repairing this building and somehow shut down Headliners and all the acts that were due to go there are now going to the Civic. Well the Civic is a hanger for a small plane. Picture that, it has food and shit on the sides and beer. I didn't try the food because I am poor, but looked pretty good. In the back were food court tables. Apparently the govenor was there and stuff but whatever. And up front, the stage is up about 3 or 4 feet, with steps the whole length of the stage in front, and then a baracade in front of that, so if your against the rail, you are still like 4 ft from the stage, it isn't close and personal like headliners. Headliners had enough space for security to catch surfers and that was it.
There were no opening bands, frist up was the Kills, VV was looking as hot as ever!! They kicked ass as always! The played a good mix of songs off their new and old albums. I was getting pissed cuz people in the crowd were talking shit and asking if they were done yet, if my knuckles weren't already fucked up I was about to punch one guy. I'll explain the knuckles later. I was pissed they had no merch and didn't come out and mingle..at least that I saw. And because of the crappy shit I explained at the begining, I didn't get any good pics.
Black Keys Had a great light show, definately played for the hippies. But they did rock. I've been listening to 2 of their albums and they played a lot of songs I didn't know so I don't know if they were from earlier one, I think I had their latest. But it was hot as hell so I grabbed a beer and headed back a ways and instead of a mosh pit, there was a hippie dance pit... Uncle Tom would have felt right at home! But the music all night was pretty good, I was just disappointed in the venue and really don't wanna go back, I know there are a couple other smaller venues around, hope that the bands will go there so I can check them out. But thats all for now, hope to update on life soon....

Cruefest!!
Cruefest kicked ass, just as expected! It started out rough, I was drinking the night before with my friends and I was doing good, I only drank 2 beers but then they started getting shots and I had to do them. I didn't do as many as them only when someone bought round of them. Then I had to help my buddy take 2 of them to his place cuz they were wasted and help carry them in the house and all that fun stuff. I didn't get home til about 4 in the morning and we were supposed to leave around 9. Then my cousin and her boyfriend were running late so we ended up not leavin til after 10. I was a little dehydrated and tired as hell but I knew I'd be alright when the music started. So we drove the 3 hours over to Indianapolis. All good, we get there just as they open the parking lot, but the gates weren't open so we had to sit in the hot as sun for about an hour and thats when I started to feel like shit... Still not that bad but bad enough that I was uncomfortable. This was my first stadium show since well I don't know if you count warped tour or HFStival, if not then Lynyrd Skynyrd when I was about 16 or so. But we get in and we had seats that were almost to the lawn. Trapt was pretty good they played some old and new stuff. Sixx:AM was fucking amazing! James Michael is a magnificent singer! And DJ Ashba was blazing on the guitar. We ended up getting a pic with James and my cousins Boyfriend found DJ Ashba and got a pic with him while I was getting something to drink...fucker. Then Papa Roach was pretty good. Buckcherry was too, but my cuz kept saying he thought he was lip singing every other song cuz he'd pull the mic away and the voice was still going for a second. Throughout the whole concert my cuz was texting with a chick we met on myspace and he's been chatting with, she was down in the pit. The plan was to get her and her moms tickets to get me and him down there for Motley Crue. Well she met a guy who printed off extras, since you have to show them and they punch a whole in them and give you a wristband. So we get them and we get in, then fucking security came over and said they seen us earlier in the seats and said she knew we weren't supposed to be down there, she asked to see out tix, we showed her and she said she knew but couldn't do anything. So we were happy as fuck. We were up close and personal with Motley fuckin Crue! The smoke, lights, and flames messed with some of my pics, some were crystal clear while others looked pixilated when I was the same distance and all that jazz, but whatever. It was great! Defianately recommend seeing this tour, they said they are planning on doing it every year!! Can't wait for the next one!

Saliva and Sevendust
SO yeah yesterday my buddy told me he was going over to Fort Wayne to see Saliva and Sevendust and asked me if I wanted to come. Of course I wasn't a hard sell, I was like hell yeah I aint doin shit anyway. It was him, his bro, and me in his truck and he had 3 other friends in another one. Well a couple of his friends in the other truck were already drinking alot (not the driver though) So we get there and in and they have chicks going around with trays of test tube shots at this place. They buy 2 trays, we do them and like 20 minutes later they want us to get another one, so we did and one of them was fucked! So I spent most of the opening bands trying to keep him from getting his ass beat and out of trouble. The opening bands were Overscene and Neverset, they were pretty good, unfortunately I couldn't give them my full attention. Same with Saliva because he kept disappearing and we had to try to find him, he was at the bar trying to get more drinks when he was out of money and couldn't get a card out. Thankfully they took him home at that point. So my buddy and his bro were back by the bar all night they didn't wanna get beat up or whatever, they are pretty big boys, almost my height and at least 50lbs on me. SO I was up bymyself for Sevendust, the guitarists kept trying to throw me guitar picks but they kept hooking and falling short. I was right up front there was like 3 people in front of me maybe. SO I went back and made my buddy come up, it took some talking and calling him a pussy and pulling him but he was happy when we got up there, we weren't getting shoved that much the pit was kinda close but not too close. The singer ended up throwing me a hand towel that I caught, then I ended up getting a pick finally but I gave it to my buddy for inviting me and coming up front with me. It was a good time. Unfortunately they wouldn't let cameras in. Oh yeah we did get to see some titties waiting for the encore, some chicks got up and was flashing. That kinda made the night just that much better...lol. Good times!

Your Vegas, Fiction Plane, and The Bravery
Sorry its taken so long but I have been busy as hell and I'll probably come back later to bitch more about that.
So Friday I went up to Toledo to take my EMT test, it sucked and I was very unsure about all of it, but I found out yesterday that I did pass!! It took me less than an hour and I had to kill 7 hours before the show. SO I drove around it was beautiful out, I found a shopping center and walked around it, I got to chill in a bookstore, it wasn't a borders or barnes and noble though so it wasn't as cool. I didn't find any books that grabbed my attention. I drove around trying to find others but couldn't find any, only bad neighborhoods so I went to the venue which had a bar attached that recently opened so I of course had some drinks while waiting. It was a good atmosphere, I played the video quiz thing for a while, trying not to drink too much.
First up was Your Vegas who was really good, the crowd dug them, I just hate how most people at shows don't really get into the opening acts since they don't really know them. I was jamming as usual. I also made some friends with some girls, so I was slightly distracted. And some underage chicks kept trying to get me to buy them drinks like I was a retard or something, dumbasses.
Next was Fiction Plane, By this time I made my was to center stage with my new friends. We were dancing and having a good time. Again people weren't getting into it, I never heard of anyone but the bravery but that doesn't mean that you can't show the band you dig them. The band definatly noticed my tall ass up front having a good time. The singer came over and gave me five and the drummer threw me a drum stick. I wanted to get it signed but they didn't come over to the merch table...
The bravery of course kicked ass yet again! I was pissed at myself I didn't charge my camera before I left and my battery kept dying when I was trying to take pics, I did get a few but most were blurry apparently it didn't want to use its antishake. Of course everyone was jumping, dancing and having a great time for the bravery. They mostly played songs from their new album but did play a couple from their self titled. They didn't turn the lights up so we stuck around waiting for an encore but then they started tearing down. I was kinda mad, but oh well. It was still a great show as I expected. Well back to homework, I will prob be back later with a bitchy post...

Sick Puppies!!
So last night I went up to a concert in Toledo. It was an awesome show! My cousin was supposed to go with me but he took a nap and wouldn't wake up, he works first shift. SO I went on by myself. First band was a local one called Beyond this Point. They were pretty decent, nothing too great but not bad. They had some technical difficulties, with mics fading in and out. They did some screaming and stuff and had some mosh pits going. Next up was Saving Abel, I am not putting up links cuz I am tired and going to bed soon! But look them up, they were a great band from the south, they had an awesome song called "Addicted" that was the best, its about fucking! Next up was Dropping Daylight, I have heard of them before but don't recall ever hearing any of their music. They were also really good. They said that every night on the tour they play a different new song live, we got to experience one that I unfortunately don't remember the name of. They have a new CD coming out Tomorrow that I will probably pick up and I suggest you do the same. Also they did a cover of Journey's "Don't stop believin" that kicked fucking ass!! I called my cousin because he loves Journey! Oh yeah a guy behind me asked me to mosh, I said no and he ended up raming into me anyway, I almost lost it, I grabbed him and threw him to the ground but then I caught myself and helped him up. On the plus side he got me closer to the stage and more centered. Last but positivly not least was Sick Puppies!! The sounded great live! Was full of energy, except Emma, she is hot as hell but she seemed bleak and it kinda bothered me. She didn't look up much, I didn't see her smile at all. But Shimon was defiantely in a good mood and constantly was talking to the crowd and made eye contact and gave me five a couple times, I had my hat off, maybe it was cuz I am startin to look kinda like him, my hair is pretty land and looks like his now. But they also did a cover.... I bet you wouldn't be able to guess what in a million years.... give up.... "SAy my name" destiny's child. I'm not sure you can call it a cover, more a rock remix, but it was funny and sounded better than the original to me, but I love ROCK! I was getting a little irritated cuz there was a guy on the wall in frint of me who kept getting pissed about people pushing up on him... We all hate it but deal with it!! He was shoving this chick behind him into a pit and snapped her head back, I was about to punch him in the face but then just turned my attention back to the stage trying to keep out of trouble and just enjoy the great rock show! I only had 2 beers towards the beginning. I was proud of myself for that and for not starting any trouble... here's some pics...

Thanksgiving...and Madina Lake and Mayday Parade
Lets start off with Thanksgiving... I am thankful I have a healthy son and my family is doing pretty good, I am in good health physically and getting along ok mentally. I wouldn't be without my family, my parents are great and I love them. They keep trying to help me even though I try not to let them. I am poor as shit since they cut my hours at work, my pay check was only enough to pay my car insurance, I have lots of other bills, they keep trying to give me money even though they don't have much, they are worried about buying christmas presents for me and my son, I severly doubt I am going to be able to afford gas to and from school next week let alone presents. I am going to have to start using my credit cards again and probably get myself in trouble. Hopefully I might get some income tax back next year, maybe I can catch up a bit on it then, we'll see...there I go on the negatives instead of the good again....
So The concert was great!! It was my first time at headliners in Toledo, its a lot closer and reminded me of Black cat well the stage and everything, the atmosphere wasnt even close! But this was the last night of the tour and the bands were having fun and it was great! I'm not going to go through each band cuz all were awesome, there was We the Kings, Powerspace, Madina Lake, and Mayday Parade. During all the bands other bands members would come out and mess around, but it added to the fun. They wrapped people in serane(sp?) wrap and electrical tape while they were playing and during the last songs they started taking the drum kit apart while they were playing. They were throwing toilet paper around. I think it was the singer of We the Kings got caught on fire so they stoped that. They had hairspray and a lighter and was shooting it around and caught his back but they kept going. It was just fun as hell. Getting there I felt bad cuz I was like the oldest person other than some kids parents, but as the show went on other people showed up, I think they were just afraid of being seen there early or something. I didn't get into any fights or anything but I did almost kill some little girl. All night me and another dude were picking up people to crowd surf, soon girls just came up and was asking us, well one girl I picked up and she started to fall in front of me so we got under her and kinda tossed her, but she went over the crowd and up to the stage, I think the security guy caught her. We freaked out, we didnt mean to throw her that hard or anything, I hope she was ok. She just kinda disappeared. But besides that it was fun. Well TIme for me to get back to tv. Later, Happy Thanksgiving!

Bloodsimple, Otep, and Hellyeah
So last night for devils night CF and I drove up to Detroit to see a concert, I wanted to go see Otep plus it was the day that their new highly anticipated CD was released, even though I
We got into the place, it was trick or freak so people were dressed up, some good costumes, some bad ones. Bloodsimple was the first band, I liked them they rocked. I tried to stay back cuz I didn't want CF to get hurt but she said lets go up front so we got pretty close, there was quite a big pit so I tried to keep her safe. I took a couple pics and security yelled at me and came and asked me why I was taking pics, I just said because and they said I couldn't, bastards. For SIlverstein they just said I couldn't use my flash but whatever so I tried to sneak 2 of Otep that didn't look to come out so good. Otep was fucking awesome! Gawd she is pretty hot too! Crowd definately got rowdier. A couple guys dressed as slipknow came up and started banging around and got in front of us and kept squishing CF so I put a good elbow into the back of ones head, when I did I accidently punched a HUGE dude next to me in the side of the head so I quickly apologized to him, he said no prob he say what I did and said he was about to do the same. They guys in front settled down a bit, I told them between songs I am just trying to keep CF from getting smashed, if they wanna pit, get in the fucking pit! But on Oteps new album they cover Nirvana's Breed, I in most cases don't think any band should cover NIrvana though I believe it was Action Action when I saw them did a good cover and Oteps is great. Unfortunately they didn't sign autographs. we hung back a ways for Hellyeah cuz I know it was gonna get rougher since that was who everyone probably came to see, I like them but I went mainly for Otep and others probably didn't even know who they were. But HEllyeah kicked ass and said they were playing their whole album, we didn't stay for it all since we had a 2-2 1/2 hour drive back but we stayed for probably half the set. They said it was the first night of the tour so if they come near you definatly go check it out, it is a pure rock and fucking roll kick ass tour!
Happy Halloween everyone hope you are having fun, I am doing jack shit and probably just watching Ghosthunters live episode until 3am, hopefully my old ass can stay up for it. Last night my back and knees were killing me, I'm not as young as I used to be going to concerts every week and getting up at 630 the next morning!

Silverstein Xs 5!!!!
So last night was the best concert ever and probably the 3rd best day of my life! It started pretty bad traffic sucked getting to Detroit, I kinda got losed because some roads were blocked and cops were directing traffic, I finally decided to just park, I found a lot. My phoine kept just shutting off, it wouldn't stay on, then it wouldn't even turn on. The lot ended up being right around the corner from the venue. I didn't get anyone to go with me, I went in the bar next to it, sat had a couple drinks talked to the bartenders til doors opened. I'm not going to go into it about the bands cuz I only got a couple hours sleep and gotta go to school in half hour. Smoke and water or something was cool during it I made some guy buy me a beer for talking shit. Comeback Kid kicked fucking ass some chick came up and started making out with me. SIlverstein of course was great but still didn't play already dead, I also made out with this girls friend. Also during Silverstein I shoved back some guy who got pissed off and punched me in the face, as he tried to do it a second time I grabbed his arm and broke it. I finally got to do one of the fucking moves I learned in hand to hand combat.I grabbed his arm over my shoulder and just yanked the fucker, he just kind of ran off. It was fucking hilarious, I do have a bit of a mark on my cheek though. Rise Against was very good I definately want to see them again too! But got to make out with 2 chicks and break a dudes arm, I don't think I can top that. Hell I don't think I ever even made out at a concert when I went with a girlfriend, I kissed but not like that. Then on the drive home I had to drive though a fucking monsoon! I could barely see the road!!! But I got home safe and have a great story. Good things, bad things, and great fucking memories! But I should have some pics, I'll try to post them sometime this weekend.

VH1 You Outta Know Tour
SO Last night I went up to Baltimore to see this tour the only reason I went was for the opening act Rocco Deluca and the Burden. Unfortunately cameras weren't allowed or else I would have some kickass pics! You may have seen them on a documentary called I trust you to kill me where Keifer Sutherland is their tour manager and takes them around England. That is where I first saw them, hearing their raw emotions and the greatness of Roccos guitar playing I picked up their CD. I have been a fan since. They are great. It is kind of hard to describe their music, its bluesy, rock, soft rock, pop and well any other genre along those lines. They put on such a great show. Rocco is a guitar god! I had goose bumps for their entire performance, just the way you could see and feel the emotions he puts in singing and the way his guitar seems to be plugged right into your soul. Afterwards they were supposed to be hanging out and signing stuff, so I waited a bit and kept checking the merch booth then I saw them over by a table off from the stage so I bought another copy of their CD so I could have something for them to sign but by time I got back they were gone. I was bummed as hell. Eventually I saw an older lady come from back stage with a signed CD I asked her if she could get mine signed, she said she just kinda snuck back there and the guys were happy to sign it. She told me to do the same thing. I ordered a beer to work up some liquid courage and found my moment and snuck back stage like a little groupie, I walked into their dressing room where a stage hand was bringing them out food and stuff, I asked for their autograph while I nervously tried to explain that I had to buy another CD and that when I got back they were gone. The guys just kinda smiled and said sure, someone asked if they could eat first and I said yeah, sorry, then a stage hand asked for my pass or whose guest I was I said I didn't have one. They kicked me out but they said they were gonna come back out later.
The Feeling was the second band, I missed most of their performance doing all the above but they sounded pretty good. A little different. But I heard a couple of songs that will make me at least check out their CD. The only part that turned me down a bit was the bassist was all checking out the little girls in the front row and winking at them and stuff it was kinda creepy.
Mat Kearny Was the headliner again I missed most of his performance waiting to see if the band was gonna come back out, the drummer came out and then was followed by the percussionist who played the bongos and various small instruments. But all the girls seemed to love Mat, his music isn't really my cup of tea but sounded pretty good. So 2 of the guys from Rocco came out but I was waiting and hoping to catch them all together, finally Rocco came out I apologized for interrupting their meal and he said no problem and happily signed the CD and was just chatting with everyone who came up to him. I waited a little longer but lost track of where the other guys went so I only got Roccos but at least I got that and wasn't kicked out for going backstage. They will be playing a couple more shows in the area next month with Keane but it's already sold out. Definitely go pick up their album and then go see them, I guarantee you will not be disappointed! I will definitely see them any chance I get!!

Billy Talent
So last night was a great punk rock show! Traffic kinda sucked getting there so we missed part of the first bands set. The band was called Drive By, they sounded good. They just kind of had a good rock sound, but we only caught the last couple songs so not much to say about them. Sorry.
Next band was Cancer Bats. They were harder with more screaming. The vocals were a little lower than the music so it was really hard to understand anything. Side note While trying to add the pics I lost everything I already typed so now I am trying to remember everything I just wrote. But the music was really good. Kick ass guitar riffs with a good drum beat. On myspace it sounds a lot better because you can understand more of it. I'm sure that if Id listened to the CD a couple of times before I went to see them I'd have enjoyed it even more. But it was good music to get punped up before the main course.
Billy Talent kicked major ass!!!! The singer was older than I thought but still rocked my socks off! The crowd was crazy moshing. This was one of my favorite concerts I've seen they sounded great. They just seem crazy cool and down to earth, I was looking up something about them and saw that they have a canadian college fund set up for kids or kids of parents that have MS which you don't really hear much of bands doing especially punk sounding bands. The guitarist had some crazy hair too it was kind of a tall flat top thing it's hard to explain and we didn't get a good pic of it, but to see what I am talking about you have to go see them live. Trust me you will not be disappointed. I will do everything I can to see them anytime they tour near me again!!
Cancer Bats
Cancer Bats again

The rest are all Billy Talent!

Senses Fail Again!!
Next up was Alexisonfire, these guys rocked. They sounded good, I think I'd heard a couple of their songs before. They seemed to be having a blast, the singer was wearing some short cut off jean shorts, which was just funny to look at. I will probably pick up their album and listen some more and maybe see them again. They sold me on their music. Unfortunately I didn't really research any of the bands, I was just going to see Senses Fail. Plus the guitarist did a triple or quadruple guitar spin, you know how some guitarists trow their guitars from the front down behind them and it comes up over their shoulder, well he threw it around and kinda hoola hooped it around several times, it was AWESOME! Plus the singer went out on the crowd and was singing, I always love when they do that, even if it was on the other side from me.
Then Saosin, all the teeny boppers loved them. They sounded ok, the singers voice reminded me kind of Chiodos lead singer, I liked his voice. The crowd was moshing and jumping all over the place, but it again didn't feel like that kind of music. The singer called for people to crowd surf to give the bouncers up front something to do. SO this band I am kind of on the border with, I may check their music out if I remember. Also I think this was when I got knocked around. At one point a pit opened up in front of me, no big deal I stood there, wasn't too bad then apparently one opened a little ways next to me and someone hit someone and they flew into me and sent me flying, I thought I got hit by a car! But all was good and even though I forgot to wear my steel toed boots, my feet survived.
Senses Fail !!! They kicked ass!! They played a good mix of new and old stuff, the crowd was going crazy! Buddy, the singer, was working on his mic cord swinging and pulled off some really cool ones including jumping off a speaker, swinging it behind his back and catching it under his leg. Also at one point he went off the stage and was doing something and he came back on stage doing back hand springs. The only slight problem was it seemed like he couldn't scream too well. Some of the spots that should have been screams he lightened up. I don't know if he's got a cold or something but he still rocked. That's got to be hard as hell, singing and screaming all the time then you get sick, you can't let down the fans, you got to keep your schedule. If that was the case he didn't let me down I still loved every minute of it! They will be on the Taste of Chaos Tour withe the Used, but not coming around here, if they come by you, GO SEE THEM! And they ended the show with one of my favorite songs from the new album, The Priest And The Matador and I'll leave you with the lyrics!
Here I lie
Staring At
Clouds and Shapes
Of dogs and cats.
I hear a woman
Start to yell
"Oh dear God, I think he fell"
I'm the arrow,
Shot straight to hell
From the bow of William Tell.
My body lies
Kissing the ground
Like a cross turned upside down.
A priest is rushing
To my side,
Begins to read me
My last rites.
Father you're too late
My faith is weak
So won't you save your
half-hearted speech.
A man bends down and says,
"Son, we're going to get through this one
take my hand and let us pray..."
I scream, "Please get the fuck away."
The ambulance is singing
As cops push back the crowd
I start to take my last breath,
As blood pours out my mouth.
The medics walk in my way
I think this could be it.
I hear them start to state
The time of death is half past six.
I'm the arrow,
Shot straight to hell

HFSmas Nutcracker!
SO this was my first time at Rams Head Live, my directions there were messed up but thankfully with my sharp sense of direction and a few Uturns I got us there a little late. Apparently one of the bands missed a train so they started an hour late, I was hoping the band didn't make it but they did so the show ran later, I'll get to that in a minute. There will be no pics at least unless HFS puts up pics because no cameras were allowed. It was a nice small place, we were in the back where there was a little step to sit on in between sets which was nice and we were still close to the stage, it was great. The first band was 40 Acres. THey were really good. Good old ole school rock, some resembelance to Guns N Roses. The singer interacted well with the crowd throwing out CDs and Tshirts from his santa bag. The guitarist was amazing!! He could definately be the next Slash, he even had hair working on being like his...lol.
Next up was Shiny Toy Guns, the reason the show was late. They fucking sucked ass!! Thankfully they only played like 3 songs and left! The chick was spazing out while trying to sing and play, the keyboard guy looked like the singer from AFI, gay as hell, the other singer/guitar player had the gayest hair, I hope there are pics so you can understand, he had his part shaved on the side of his head with the rest long. The drummer I think was the worst, he had a triangle painted on his eye like he thought he was in Kiss, he kept doing weird ass dancing moves and being over dramatic while playing. It was a trainwreck!!! Supposedly they just played Letterman which aired last night. They sucked ass!!
Next was +44 Which Kicked as much ass as I thought they would. The ladies loved them some Mark, he would come to the edge of the stage to say hi to everyone, making eye contact with everyone in the crowd, throwing pics to people. They played pretty much their whole album, no Blink songs. Here's the amazing part, Travis had a cast on his right wrist, I don't know if it was broken or what but he kicked ass on the drums with one hand! It was great! I could only imagine seeing him play with both. At one point he smoke a cigarrete while playing, I don't think you'd ever see a drummer doing that but all he was doing with that hand was holding it up so why not put a cig in it...lol. It was great, Mark loved talking to the crowd and the crowd loved him! The only problem was the sound was a little messed up with his mic so it sounded a bit distorted, but don't think it was his fault.
Finally 30 Seconds to Mars by this time it was almost midnight and HB and I had to get up early. THey came out the crowd went crazy as the girls drooled over themselves, HB included. We only stayed for a few songs. They were good though but by that time I was tired, hungry and my legs and back was hurting so I wasn't fully enjoying the moment, totally my fault not the bands. They played awesome and Jared didn't preach too much, he got into it a little but nothing over the top so they stay out of that category. It just sucks going to concerts on work night and the parking garage there was horrendously small, I couldn't imagine trying to get out with a shitload of cars. But we made it out safe, I just got a speeding ticket on the way home. They "reduced" the fine, by saying I was doing 67 instead of 76 in a 55. I think they are full of shit, I may have been doing 70 but whatever $80 down the drain again. I wonder how many speeding tickets I've gotten now, at least 10 I think. WHatever. All n all good time, another good show!

Siverstein concert #4 Updated
Blogger was messing up so here are the pics, I know they are big!!
Ok where shall we begin. I hate doing this a couple days after the show, but am usually to lazy to get to it until now. First up was a band I Killed the Prom Queen, an Australian band. The music sounded pretty good, it rocked and all but the singer sucks ass. I mean I like "Screamo" music but it sounded like he swallowed the mic and was trying to hack or puke it back up. When the guitarist sung parts as back up I told HB he should be singing, he had a pretty good voice that could be understood. SO I'd give them a thumbs down.
Next on the list was He is Legend, Who I saw before and kind of liked. They were even better this time. They were great, the singer was still doing his hippy dancing which was funny as hell. They had a little more screaming this time, which was kind of understandable compared to the first band. I got their newer CD but only got to hear the first 2 songs on the way to work this morning, they sounded good...lol. I definately wouldn't mind seeing them again.
Next 2 we kind of disappointing. It Dies Today, was ok, I wasn't really impressed of course I think I'd only heard one of their songs before. I was just kind of expecting more. And this is where they started oredering people to make the pits bigger and blah blah blah. "Come on DC I wanna see the biggest circle pit EVER!" These "pits" were disgraceful, they were just kids running in a big circle, doing laps. Pits are slaming and spining in a bit of a circle. If Chris had been there with me, we'd shown them, but my job was to keep HB from getting squished. I think this may have been when the kid passed out on HBs foot. I looked over and her and guy next to her bent over quickly, I looked down and there was a kid on the floor, we pulled him up quickly and the bar dude took him to the back. HB thought someone was stepping on her so she started kicking to find out it was a guys head. It was probably heat or dehydration related, he wasn't old enough to drink.
Next up was Aiden, who I just saw on yahoo, it calls a goth punk band, HA they are nothing but posers. I've seen them before and didn't like them then either. The singer wore all his makeup and shit, fake blood on his neck. Again made his compelling speech about how we were all brothers and sisters, we are all the same and whatever horseshit the little kids wanted to hear about them not being outsiders, they belonged with everyone around them, told them to put their arms around each other. Luckily no one touched me or else I'd gotten pissed. They also bitched about Hawthorne Heights getting a bigger "pit" than them last time. That's probably because they are better! But whatever, they suck and it's unfortunate that him and Shane from Silverstein are friends.
Finally Silverstein. As always a great performance. I just love the fact the wear regular tshirt and jeans that they were probably wearing earlier, they don't wear make-up or anything. And on top of all of that, they kick fucking ass!! They did a partial acoustic version of "Call it Karma" which I love and wanted to hear acoustic and towards the end the rest of the band came out and finished it. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play "Already Dead" but all in all was great. I think we got quite a bit of good pics which I will try to add to this tonight or tomorrow. Shane, the singer, was wearing a Rest in Peace, damn it I forgot who, he looked like Ole Dirty Bastard though. I didn't think he died and he turned around and it said the guys name on the back. Whatever I thought it was kind of funny. They made it worth sitting through the other bands and the last song as always was "Bleeds No More" with the Aiden dude, luckily he didn't do or say much, I don't think his mic was working or something. Oh well. And no Encores, so I was a little sad but there was another show after so they had to get everyone out.
Next up is tonight a really late show in Bmore, Boyskout with Uncle Tom, his bro, and Canowine. It will be like Uncle Toms bachelor party again except instead of scary trailer strippers, we will more than likely be the only guys in a sea of butch lesbians. who will probably kick all of our asses. But hopefully it will be a good time. Let you know tomorrow if I survive.

Boyskout Concert
I am tired as shit this morning, it has been a while since I did a late night concert on a work night. So Last night Uncle Tom, Canowine, and myself made the drive up to Bmore to a place called The Talking Head, which was like a block from Sonar, we were going to see Boyskout. We knew the were lesbians that rocked. Well we got there and it was pretty uncomfortable. It was a small bar with a stage and upstairs were broken pool tables and video games. Going to the bathroom scared me. You had to go up stairs with no light, walk around the weirdos upstairs and then go down a narrow windy stairs to the bathroom. Looking around everyones sexuality was in question, we were only sure that the 3 of us were straight. Some's gender was in question, trying to figure out if they were guys or girls. It was definately an experience, creepy. Well the first band cam up Pariah Piranha. I dug them, a cool 3 piece, the singer reminded us of old school Hole or maybe Tracy Bonham. She could shred the guitar, they could definately make it big. I wanted to buy one of their shirts at the end but was too tired to mess with it. It had a fish with a talk bubble thing that said "FU 4eva", of course I wanted it for the FU.
Next up was The Degenerettes. They were decent. I feel bad posting it but hey this is my place, we were sitting next to the singer when we came in, she was on of the ones we were trying to figure out her gender. But during their performance she mentioned her being a lesbian so I guess that makes her a lady who looks like a tranny. Again she could tear up the guitar. They had the energy but I just wasn't really blown away. But I guess it was good for a local band.
The there was Baby Asprin. Another local band. They weren't good. They were having a good time which made it at least bearable, but when the singer sang with the guitarist you just kind of wanted to hold your ears. Their voices didn't go together it made me want to howl but feared getting my ass kicked by gays and chicks.
Finally Boyskout. They started out with a bit of technical difficulties with the keyboard but once it was resolved it was on. They rocked!! Everything was great, the vocals, the guitar, the keyboardist/violin player. Christina played the keyboard/vilolin and was backup vocals, She would play the violin while jumping around then drop the bow onto the keyboard and play the keyboard and sing while holding the violin in her shoulder with her head/neck. It looked extremely difficult but then she'd pick up the bow and be right back at it. They put on a great show, everyone was jumping around dancing. I bought their CD and a tanktop for HB. I asked for a medium tank top that was clearly for a woman and the gender bender, I think a chick held it up to me, I had to state that it wasn't for me, she probably didn't believe me. Hopefully Boyskout gets some press and stuff and makes it big, they definately have the talent to. Keep and eye out for them, they're from San Fran.
Unfortunately I didn't remember my camera so no pics. On my way home I got pulled over like maybe 1000 yards from my house for doing 60 in a 35, I think I was only doing 50, but he let me go with a warning. I finally got in bed around 230am, alarm went off at 530am. I got up but then decided to go back to sleep for an hour since my replacement wouldn't be in that early, well it's 930 apparently I could still be sleeping since he still isn't here and I am going to leave soon and he's gonna be fucked. Tomorrow is my last day of coming in!!

Atreyu, From First to Last, Everytime I Die, Chiodos!!
As most my concerts do it started waiting in line. The main problem with my type of music is all the poser little kids who are annoying as shit. So the show sold out a couple days before HB and I had to wait in line outside for about half an hour or so with all the little kids talking about stupid shit. It was annoying and HB kept reminding me that I was lucky she loved me, but I reminded her how much Marie Antoinette sucked ass. So we get inside get a drink and chill waiting for Chiodos. I have to warn you there isn't many good pics because the lights kept messing it up, we'd get a good shot and a light would hit the camera, we ended up deleting most of them. You can see all the ones we didn't delete HERE AT SNAPFISH.
Chiodos was great!! Full of energy, sounded just as good as on the album. I wanted to go and meet them afterwards but there were so many kids around I didn't want to lose our spot. At the end he gave a speach about how they were regular guys just like us, who love to play music and are lucky enough to make money doing it. It was cool, I will definately want to see them again. Hopefully they will make a new album soon. Next on the bill was Everytime I die.
I forget where I first heard Everytime I Die but I picked up their album a while back, I really liked it. It's very fast, some funny and crazy lyrics. It is definately moshing music!! I need to type these after I see the show so I still have the energy from seeing the band. It's hard to put it into words days after. But I don't have a problem voicing my opinion about the next band, From First to Last.
I remember I first heard From First to Last on a compilation album. The song was "Note to Self" A nice little ballad of sorts but I dug it. I bought the album which was pretty good. I was constantly debating whether or not the singer was a guy or girl though. It was very hard to tell. By the picture you may or may not be as confused as I was seeing Sonny in person. Sonny is like 5 foot nothing, long hair, big hoop earings, looks like a chick, sounds like a chick, but apparently isn't a chick. This was the band all the little kids came to see, they all screamed at the top of their lungs was at a pitch that ruptured my eardrums. This band has moved into my pile of poser bands with My Chemical Romance, Aiden, and whoever else I can't think of at the moment. They had some crappy distortion on the vocals that really hurt my ears too, in betweeen songs when he'd talk you couldn't understand him. It was gay!! But Atreyu wasn't gay!

I missed Atreyu at warped tour a couple years back, because of My Chemical Romance. But they kicked major ass!! Unfortunately I haven't got their newer album yet and didn't know all the song but they played a couple from The Curse. And it sucked because we left early to avoid the traffic and HB was hurting. We were tired and my legs were hurting from standing for 5 hours and she's got a bad knee so I knew she had to be in a lot more pain than I. They definately rocked the place though and thankfully most of the poser kids left after FFTL, their parents were probably outside waiting to pick them up. But all in all it was a great concert besides the kids and FFTL, but live and learn, now I know not to see them again!! Atreyu is the shit though I am getting the new album this week, Deathgrip on Yesterday!!

Saves the Day, Pistolita, and The Spotlight
My late concert review, I was sick. The sickness started kicking my ass on Saturday and is still kicking my ass but that didn't stop me from seeing my concert. This was my first time going to Ottobar, it was a great little place, really close to the Black Cat, it was smaller which I like and even had a little balcony that is right next to the stage, but Black Cat has beer in a glass and pinball. Anyway, thankfully we were really early and got great seats on the balcony so we were right next to the stage and avoided the tragedies that were to come.
First up was The Spotlight, who was from here in Maryland. I liked them, the singer had a familiar voice, it was just good music to listen to. Rock but not really overwhelming, I haven't heard their myspace page yet so I'm not sure how they sound on there but I guess they have an album that's gonna be released coming in 2007, in which I will probably pick it up. Here is a picture of them between songs.
Next one the list was Pistolita, who I really didn't like their look, they were all wearing little girls pants. I mean they were jeans that were tighter than spandex, the piano guy couldn't even pull them up all the way because they were so tight, and the drummer scared me. But when they started playing I was digging the music. It reminded me a bit of Chiodos because of the piano, the guitarists was screaming a bit in the background, it sounded good. I ended up buying the album saying that I'd buy it if I could get it signed but only the drummer and bassists signed it, we didn't wait around for the others though I just shook the singers hand before I got it, he disappeared. Here is Pistolita's hair, you can't really see their faces, I don't think they have faces, that's how rocker's roll:
Then came Saves the Day, they played a mix of old songs and songs from their new album. Now I like them but haven't taken the time to listen to their older stuff so I just wanted to hear the new stuff. But it seemed for everyone there who were bigger fans than I, the loved the mix. The singer, Chris, had pink hair which only a rock star can do and not get his ass kicked for being a fairy. The crowd was insane though, crowd surfing, moshing, jumping on stage and stage diving. HB and I were laughing at the little poser prissy chicks getting kicked in the face, it was filarious. A couple times the microphone was knocked down by people being thrown on stage. We were very glad that we weren't down there. The Chris made good eye contact with everyone throught his performance, I think he was trying to mack on me and/or HB, he kept giving one of us the eye as you can see in one of the pics below. along with the kids moshing and surfing. All in all it was a good time.

Concert and Movies
For the 3rd fucking time! Ok this is gonna be kind of rushed because I am pissed I wrote this earlier and even copied it before I hit publish and it didn't work and when I tried to paste it was gone. WTF? Copy only holds stuff for so long? I was gonna paste it somewhere but got pulled to do some bullshit! Anyway the concert sucked. We got there an hour early despite traffic, so we walked down to the inner harbor and walked around a bit. It was hot as fuck. We walked back and waited in line outside the club. We finally got in hoping it was gonna be cooler, it wasn't. It was in the "club room" instead of the main stage which would have been awesome if it wasn't so hot. There were no fans no air moving just stale fucking hot. We at least got 2 bar stools. I drank some water and ordered a beer. I drank more water than beer, thats how hot it was. Rediscover went up. They were better than they sound on myspace. They were more rock than the techno crap on there. It was funny lyrics to some good tunes. They were having fun so in turn we had fun watching them. Next was Valencia instead of classic crimes. They were more my type of music. They were harder and screamed a bit. But by this time the place was getting more and more packed with little teenie boppers making it hotter. HB looked like she hated me for being there so I asked if she wanted to go sit in the car with air conditioning. She said yes and then when we were in the car she said she wanted to go home. I was upset because I wanted to see the other bands but I love her and know that everyone doesn't share my enthusiasm for concerts. I'd go to a show every night if I had the money regardless of having to get up early the next morning. I have done it quite a bit actually. But we left and that was that.
Saw Clerks 2, it was filarious! Definately a must see. My favorite part was a scene where Jay recreates a scene from Silence of the Lambs. It was definately different from the first one. You can tell how Kevin Smith has grown over the years as a writer and they had more of a budget. It had more of a plot and story but still had something special like the first one. We then theater hoped over to see My Super Ex-girlfriend. It was funny too and showed how crazy women are. This one I'd rent when it comes out on DVD. But now blogger is saying that it is fucked up again so I am pissed and gonna try again. If it loses it then fuck my reviews!!

Sonic Youth!!
So the show kicked ass! Canowine and I both missed the first band which kind of sucked because they sounded good online, Be Your Own Pets, I'm not linking much cause I have my terror running around and don't have much time to blog or even read blogs :( But the show was great I was a little upset they didn't play many of their old songs but what do you expect when a band has been around for 20 years and has a new album coming out, they need to play those songs. but it was great. You Can Check Out the Pics HERE and you can listen to the show thanks to NPR HERE after the first song you should be able to hear someone in the crowd give a shout out to Eck, I'm not sure who but I haven't listened yet. Let me know. Got to go.
Uncle Tom called and left me a message this morning. Good to hear your alive now start posting stuff online damnit, so when I start surfing again I can read all you adventures!

Long weekend update
I need to try to make this quick because I've got a busy day, but it was a long weekend so I don't know if I can. Friday I painted for 5 hours and got the boys room, the bathroom, and office painted. I still have the dining room, our bedroom, and 3 bathrooms to paint, but they'll probably wait a while. We moved everything and nothing really got broken and no one really got hurt so it was a good move. My buddy from Bmore cancelled because he twisted his knee and we had to call in HBs Officer in charge who gladly helped and was very much appreciated. We've just been making trips to apartments to fill up cars with shit now and getting all the rest of the little shit. My apartment is finally cleared as of yesterday. Our living room looks livable, and HB fixed up the office to look nice, the boys room looks pretty good, but the kitchen, dining room, and our room are still a mess. Sunday we went to our concert, it was a great timne. First band was Red Jumpsuit Apparatus who was really good I dug it. A good rock band with some screaming. I don't thing HB cared too much for them. They were pretty funny, just thanking us for putting up with listening to them and for at least listening since they didn't have much choice since we were already there. Next up was Keating who was also pretty good, a little softer and I think the singer was gay. He liked touching himself while he sung. He also had his pants barely on his hips I guess to show off his big belt buckle or some thing but they still sounded good, it's hard for live music to suck. I mean a few beers and live music, you really have to suck to make it bad. Next up was Men, Women, and Children Uncle tom, Canowine and myself almost went to see them at the Black Cat a while back. They play kind of 70s music. It is very off, but it was a GREAT show! They put on a very entertaining live sow. Jumping around, getting the crowd to sing, clap and make you just jump along with them. They were having fun and it made everyone else have fun even though their music is very different. They came out equipped with head bands, and 2 had puffy shirts and bandanas hanging off thier guitars. It was awesome. Definately check this band out!! Then 30 Seconds to Mars took forever to come on stage which was very annoying. But eventually they came out and put on a great rock show. Jared annoyed me a little and it irritaed me that the crowd would just chant his name but I did admit, try chanting 20 seconds to mars, go aheadt try, it's hard, too many sylabols. I suggested 3SM to Hb but I wasn't sure if it would fly with the crowd. Jared talked to the crowd and asked how the back of the crowd was doing in which one guy flipped him off and he stopped and had the guy come up by the stage and he turned the lights on so everyone could see him and had us scream fuck you to him. And said shit about this was a family and he's too negative and shit. Plus Jared had a red smear on his forehead that really annoyed me, I hate when guys wwear makeup too "look rock" or whatever. But HB got a lot of pics and we just need to get them on the computer. She also got to meet the band and get their signatures for buying their CD there. I was happy for her. I think it was a pretty good Bday present, even though she's been fighting with me bout not really wanting to go, she had fun. Yesterday we went out to eat for HB's Bday with some people she works with, it was a pretty good time.
My back is really fucked up, I had to take a percocet this morning and feel like taking another. I'm not sure if it's just from moving or HB and I's run in. After moving it was sore and crap but now my sharp stabbing pains are back, it's always in the same spot. I've been running around all morning and unable to take big breaths I feel like I'm hyperventilating. Still no pics of our place since it is a mess but hopefully we can get our pics sometime soon and will post them when we do. Now I need to try to catch up on everyone elses blogs!

Islands
Last night was a good time! I picked Uncle Tom up and we headed for the Black Cat. We got front row parking. There was a small line out front, we walked down to the pizza joint to yell at the for not having gravy for gravy fries that is on their menu and everytime Tom sees it and wants them but they never have gravy. Then we just bullshitted in line and watched a guy puke and walk across the street and puke in the middle of the road and we talked about how old we're getting. It was a younger kid maybe 16 fucked up on something. It was funny. We went in when the doors opened, got a couple beers and played the new pinball machine pictured below. I kicked ass finally since Tom usually buries me. Some guy came up and told us about it. He goes to the club just to have beer and play pinball. He was cool. Bought us a couple games so he could jump in our rotation. We went upstairs to see Cadence Weapon up on stage, he is a canadian rapper. Which really wasn't what I was expecting. But he sounded really good, most of his music/beats whatever you wanna call it sounded like video game music, kind of like Becks last album. He jumped down in the crowd and was jumping around and everything, just having a good time. Tom bought his album and got him to sign it and we took a pic with him.
Next up was Why? These were 3 talented guys. The drumer was also playing xylophone at the same time, the singer was playing a drum and keyboard at the same time, the third played a guitar and keyboard at the same time. The music was really good but the guys voice killed me. Tom thought he sounded like They might be giants but after thinking for a while, he sounded like the singer from Primus "My name is Mudd" except not as cool and rapping a little more. So We ditched and played some more pinball.
We got back in time for Islands This was great. These were the band geeks people made fun of in High School. The had 7 people, playing lots of instruments from sax, 2 violins, a recorder, clarinet, keyboards, bass, guitar, drums, I think that was all. This was fun, they were all jumping around, the music was great, they are all extremely talented. These Canadians rocked the house! A little dark but can't lighten it at work
I am the Champion!!
Uncle Tom getting his ass spanked at some poker pinball!
Cadence Weapon He came down and was jumping around with the crowd
Uncle Tom and I with Cadence Weapon
