Nirvana

Nirvana has released a box set! Every hardcore Nirvana fan needs this box set. I bought it the day it came out. I will admit the sound quality of it is not very good, but you need to realize that they had to copy these songs from tapes to a CD. It also includes a bonus DVD, including practices, and some early live performances. Although I noticed Dave Grohl is on the cover, he is not on the DVD. I am sure he is on some of the CD's though, that ranges from the first Nirvana show in 1987 to 1994. It is a definate must for true fans.

SLUNT !!!!

I recently saw Marilyn Manson at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. The opening act was a band named Slunt from NYC. They rocked, not to mention the two girls are extremely HOT. They were on tour with Monster Magnet but dropped when given the chance to tour with Manson. They don't currently have a full length album out, but you can buy their EP at Best Buy. You can also check out a couple of their tracks on their website http://www.slunt.net/

Silverstein

If you like hard-core screaming punk rock music, I strongly suggest you check out Silverstein. Most of their album is about breaking up with a significant other, without the sappy crying crap. "When Broken is Easily Fixed" is the album check it out.

Their single "Giving Up" can be listened to at http://www.purevolume.com/silverstein/

You can see their videos along with some othe good artists from victory records http://www.victoryrecords.com/media.html

A Poem from Henry Rollins "The First Five"

You climb and climb
Hand over hand
You reach the top
You stand on the shaky ledge of your heart
You look at her eyes
You look into her eyes
You hold you breath and jump
You leap into her arms
Her arms fall to her sides
You fall past her window
You hit the ground
You are shattered
Like someone taking a bottle
And smashing it on the sidewalk
Sharp jagged broken pieces of yourself lie on the ground
You put the pieces back together again
They never go back quite the same
The outside is seamless, smooth
But inside
Broken glass mind
And a soul with little cracks in the sides
Loose splinters at the bottom stay to remind you
At times the soul glass splinters
Will give you a jab to remind you of your leap
After a time, when you start climbing again
You will forget about the soul glass splinters
She can break your fallOr let you fall and break
And every time you jump
You just know she's going to catch you
